3RIC Studio

3RIC model challenges

Same challenge.
Different models.
Real software.

We give frontier AI coding models the same creative brief and ask them to build something that runs on a real 8-bit computer. You can inspect the code, try the results and choose your favorite. Every round leaves software the community can keep.

Challenge 01 / 3RIC Talks

Give an 8-bit computer a voice.

An original text-to-speech engine. A 65C02 and two AY sound chips. No dedicated speech chip. No cloud voice.

Type a sentence, hear it spoken, then use the engine in another program. The complete brief and repository submission guide are public.

Try. Choose. Keep.

  1. Read the brief. The same task and frozen platform for each official entry.
  2. Build and submit. Real source, reproducible checks and an independent pull request.
  3. Try the results. Inspect, listen and explore in the workbench.
  4. Choose your favorite. Episodes and People's Choice celebrate software worth keeping.

A library, not a league table.

The lasting result is useful 3RIC software. People's Choice recognizes a particular creation and edition, not the universally best model.

Human and AI-assisted remixes are welcome, with credit and assistance disclosed. Named Apple II ports need their own compatibility evidence.

Start from the workbench, learn with the tutorials, or meet the computer and its builder.

Videos, listening rounds and ballots will be linked when available. Playing and inspecting the software require no site account.
